How does the personal chef service work?

- After you select an available date and time, Chef Shane will discuss your menu options and finalize your booking.
- On the day of your event, Third Degree Catering will arrive at your house at a pre-arranged time, generally 1-2 hours before you would like to sit down for your first course depending on the complexity of your menu.
- Most kitchens have all of the necessary items needed for creating, cooking and presenting your menu - we bring everything else, including groceries.
- After we have finished preparing your meal, we clean it all up before leaving.

What is included in your at-home packages?
- We charge a flat rate of $35/hour for most personal chef events (cooking on location, plated or buffet service and clean up). All menu consultation and pre-event planning time is free of charge.
- Supplemental charges will apply if additional chefs or servers are needed.
- Not included? Cost of groceries, which gives you more flexibility to splurge or save on your special meal.
- For most occasions, we will use your own dishes, cutlery and glassware. Rentals are highly recommended for groups of 10 or more, and required for groups of 14 or more (unless you are well equipped to host large parties).
- A $50 time/mileage charge will apply beyond 50 miles one way (from Irvine, CA).
Can you accommodate special dietary requests?
- Yes! Vegetarian, dairy and/or gluten free, and other special diet menus can be accommodated. We will discuss any dietary restrictions that you or your guests may have while planning the menu.
Where is Third Degree Catering based? And where do you cook?
- We are based in Orange County, California, but work with clients all across Southern California. And beyond, if and when a special event comes up!
- As a personal chef and caterer, Chef Shane works with a variety of clients, often cooking in their own homes or at the event venue.
- If the venue is not equipped with a kitchen, rental charges will apply.
